Hi everyone and thank you for taking time to view my blog. My name is John D. Crane and in a past life I was and award-winning researcher, author, forensic analyst, business developer, marketer, market researcher and career planner.

In November 2012 I was severely injured in a not at fault auto accident where I suffered numerous orthopedic injuries, as well as a closed head injury. After the accident I lost the ability to sustain attention, process material, and other high level cognitive functions. Slowly I began to try to do some of the things that I was doing before the accident and after numerous days, weeks, months of frustration over the inability to do what I used to do I turned to designing furniture as a way to stay active and feel like I accomplished something.
The process of refinishing and creating furniture began slowly for me, but now has become my main focus while my brain continues to heal.
For me it takes a lot of energy - both mentally and physically - to complete the projects and provide the information on this blog, but even though it can be frustrating at times it allows me to use some of my old skill sets while obtaining new ones!
